Old Brixtonian Petanque Society

Sisca Boules Challenge 2006 final Sisca Challenge logo
OBPS made a name for themselves once again in the qualifiers for this national tournament. Dirty Hands, Raptor and Wayward showed up in Brighton and endeared themselves to the locals playing as the 'Outside Brighton Pier Society' qualifying in second place and making a whole bunch of new friends at Brighton and Hove Pétanque Club. They've even got a collection of Petanque Jokes! Hilarious.

Meanwhile Sundance, Whitebait and The Man rocked up to the Crondall heat and some tight games ensued. Despite just missing out on qualifying they still managed to teach Team GB a thing or two about PT.

The finals are on Saturday September 2nd at the Battersea Park Bouledrome, come along and cheer like your life depended on it for the Outside Brighton Pier Society.

World Corporate Games 2005, Zagreb Croatia World Corporate Games logo
In October 2005, OBPS took Gold and Bronze in the doubles and Silver and Bronze in the triples at the World Corporate Games in Zagreb. This made the club's standing in the medal table above the likes of Coca-Cola (the Games sponsor), Siemens and Deloitte...not so globally dominating now are they!
By night the team dominated too, rocking the games in true Clockwork Orange style.

Cleaver Square Inaugural Championship 2005

In June 2005, OBPS took on BAPS (Belsize Amateur Pétanque Society) and plastered them all over the piste.

Founders tour to the South of France 2003

In August 2003, OBPS headed to the cradle of pt, and took on the French at their own game. Needless to say, it was messy. Competing in the annual Valbonne tournament, the club went against some of the best in France, and came away with a medal. In Agay, Mr South took the jack-nudge record for cochon displacement of 21m. No loisirs there.
