History
The Old Brixtonian Pétanque Society (OBPS) was founded by a group of friends back in the summer of 2003 in Brixton, South London.
The club meets for an end or two on warm evenings and weekends throughout the summer, on one of our adopted home pistes at Cleaver Square, Kennington or in Battersea Park.
Having recently registered OBPS with the London and English Pétanque Associations we are going to commemorate our club's official creation with a stab at the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous match (over 40 hours!!). Keep up to date with the attempt >>
Every 2 years the club also goes on tour. See the pictures from South of France 2003 and Zagreb 2005 .We see this as a challenge and an opportunity not only to have a lot of fun but also to increase the awareness of Pétanque around the world. It is in fact one of the objectives in the OBPS constitution, to improve awareness of the sport and build international relations in general, in a way only the OBPS can!
